The Consciousness and the woodcutter's axe story

Long ago, there lived a woodcutter in a small village.  He was sincere in his work and very honest.  Every day, he set out into the nearby forest to cut trees.  He brought the woods back into the village and sold them out to a merchant and earn his money.  He earned just about enough to make a living, but he was satisfied with his simple living.

One day, while cutting a tree near a river, his axe slipped out of his hand and fell into the river.  The river was so deep, he could not even think to retrieve it on his own. He only had one axe which was gone into the river. He became a very worried thinking how he will be able to earn his living now!  He was very sad and prayed to the God. He prayed sincerely so the God appeared in front of him and asked, “What is the problem, my son?” The woodcutter explained the problem and requested the God to get his axe back.

The God put his hand deep into the river and took out a silver axe and asked, “Is this your axe?”  The Woodcutter looked at the axe and said “No”.   So the God put his hand back deep into the water again and showed a golden axe and asked, “Is this your axe?”  The woodcutter looked at the axe and said “No”.  The God said, “Take a look again Son, this is a very valuable golden axe, are you sure this is not yours?”  The woodcutter said, “No, It’s not mine.  I can’t cut the trees with a golden axe.  It’s not useful for me”.

The God smiled and finally put his hand into the water again and took out his iron axe and asked, “Is this your axe?”  To this, the woodcutter said, “Yes!  This is mine!  Thank you!”  The Goddess was very impressed with his honesty so she gave him his iron axe and also other two axes as a reward for his honesty.

This beautiful story conveys that YOU yourself, what you take yourself to be, are the biggest blockage to knowing your TRUE worth.
If you are really conscious (to be conscious means to know) of your CENTRE (SHIVA - TRUTH), then SHAKTI will always be with you.
You don’t really know your true worth due to your limited (Ego centered) Consciousness.

#Microsoft

A jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft.

The HR manager interviewed him, then gave him a test: clean the floor. The man passed the test with flying colors.

"You are hired," HR manager informed the applicant, "give me your e-mail address, and I'll send you the application for employment, as well as the date you should report for work.

The man replied " I don't have a computer, or an email!"

"I'm sorry," said the HR manager. "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And we cannot hire persons who do not exist."

The man was very disappointed.

He didn't know what to do. He only had $10 with him. Once that is spent, he won't have any money to buy any food.

He went to the supermarket and bought a crate of tomatoes with his $10.

He went from door to door and sold the tomatoes in less than two hours. He doubled his money.

He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with $60. He realized that he can survive
this way. He started to go everyday earlier, and return late.

He doubled or tripled his money every day. Soon, he bought a cart, then a truck. In a very short time, he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

Five years later, the man became one of the biggest food retailers in the U. S. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.

At the end of the conversation, the broker asked him for his email address.

The man replied: ' I don't have an email.'

The broker was dumbfounded. "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded in building an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?," he exclaimed.

The man thought for a while, and replied, "an office boy at Microsoft!"

Helf Yourself

The world does not need more preachers.
The world needs people who can implement the understanding of life – to Internalize their learnings & live what they already know in life. This nobody can do for you. You have to do yourself. For Eg: The world can never teach you to transcend tears. The world will only wipe your tears. You have to stop crying yourself.
The Vedas say ‘lift yourself by yourself’. I can only be reflecting you to you like a mirror. Do not seek for that one loving person in life who will be available to wipe your tears. God has no sympathy for your emotions. problems are not going to go away from your life Because you cry.

Therefore, you might as well use those emotions that will take your life from here to where you think it ought to be.
You have to keep telling yourself, this is not where I belong, I cannot continue to be so immature, hateful, angry, poor or live in scarcity of any form. I deserve abundance in all forms. You are the only person who can lift myself out of this. Do not be an intellectual vagabond. Be specific about what you want.
Everytime something positive happens in your life, Study your success.

We study, analyse only failures. Ask yourself, what is my life style right now? What am I doing right, right now – continue that pattern. Study your abundance – understand the pattern and let go of all the negativity in your life.

#Karma

If karma works, why are so many corrupt people successful?

Once a king ordered his three ministers to take a bag and go to the forest and fill up the bag with fruits.

The first minister thought that since the king has ordered for collection of fruits, he must collect the best of the fruits in the bag.

The second minister thought that since the king is a very busy person, he may not look very thoroughly into the bag what has been collected and hence he collected whatever he could lay his hands. Thus his bag was filled up with a mixture of good and rotten fruits.

The third minister thought that the king would see only externally how big the bag is and hence he just filled up the bag with all dried leaves and dust.

All the three ministers came back to the court with their respective bags, having executed the order of collecting the fruits.

The King, without even seeing what their bags contained, just ordered that now the three ministers must be sent to separate jails for three months, where they will not be provided with any food and they were only allowed to carry the respective bags wherein they had collected the fruits.

The first minister could spend the three months in the jail by eating the very nice fruits he had collected.

The second one could survive for some time with the good fruits in the bag and later he developed diseases by eating the rotten fruits he had collected.

The Third minister had nothing to eat and hence could not survive.

Moral of the story:
From the above story we understand that we have to undergo the consequences of our own activities.
“You will be suffering your own reactions after your karmas, any single karma you perform, you have to suffer for it. Good and bad, everything, you have to have this reaction. No doubt about it.

In Mahabharata , Anushasana Parva, it is said...
 yathaa dhenu sahasreshu / vatso gachhati maataram yatka krtam karma / kartaaram api gachhati
means... *“Amongst thousands of cows, the calf finds its own mother cow. Similarly the results of our past karma (deeds) when fully ripened, will find us without fail

Corporate hospital's Story

Every day, a small ant arrives at work very early and starts work immediately.

She produces a lot and she was happy.

The Chief, a lion, was surprised to see that the ant was working without supervision.
He thought if the ant can produce so much without supervision, wouldn’t she produce even more if she had a supervisor!

So he recruited a cockroach who had extensive experience as supervisor and who was famous for writing excellent reports.

The cockroach’s first decision was to set up a clocking in attendance system.

He also needed a secretary to help him write and type his reports and …
... he recruited a spider, who managed the archives and monitored all phone calls.
The lion was delighted with the cockroach's reports and asked him to produce graphs to describe production rates and to analyse trends, so that he could use them for presentations at Board‘s meetings.

So the cockroach had to buy a new computer and a laser printer and ...
... recruited a fly to manage the IT department.

The ant, who had once been so productive and relaxed, hated this new plethora of paperwork and meetings which used up most of her time…!

The lion came to the conclusion that it was high time to nominate a person in charge of the department where the ant worked.

The position was given to the cicada, whose first decision was to buy a carpet and an ergonomic chair for his office.

The new person in charge, the cicada, also needed a computer and a personal assistant ,who he brought from his previous department, to help him prepare a Work and Budget Control Strategic Optimisation Plan …

The Department where the ant works is now a sad place, where nobody laughs anymore and everybody has become upset...

It was at that time that the cicada convinced the boss , the lion, of the absolute necessity to start a climatic study of the environment .

Having reviewed the charges for running the ant’s department , the lion found out that the production was much less than before.

So he recruited the owl ,
a prestigious and renowned consultant to carry out an audit and suggest solutions.

The owl spent three months in the department and came up with an enormous report , in several volumes, that concluded : “ The department is overstaffed ...”
Guess who the lion fires first?

The ant , of course, because she “showed lack of motivation and had a negative attitude .... ! 🐜
That ant is consultant doctor in that corporate hospital. This is the environment where doctors work!!!

#Darkness

Once, it so happened that Lord Krishna was standing in front of the mirror decorating himself. He was trying on different crowns on his head and putting on some fine jewelry while his charioteer waited outside with the chariot ready. His charioteer waited and waited and thought to himself – usually, Krishna comes immediately, today he has still not come. So, out of curiosity, he went inside to find out if the program was still on because Krishna was very unpredictable, anytime anything could change. So, the charioteer goes inside and he sees Lord Krishna standing in front of the mirror admiring himself.
He politely asked, “My dear Lord, tell me, why are you dressing up so much today. Where are we going?”
Lord Krishna said, “I am going to meet Duryodhana.”
The charioteer said, “You are dressing up so much to meet Duryodhana?”
Lord Krishna then said, “He cannot see my inside, he can only appreciate my outside. So how I am dressed will impress him because he cannot see my inside.”
Then the charioteer said, “You are going to Duryodhana? You should not go, he should come to you. This I cannot accept.” He continued to say, “This is not fair. Look at your status and look at him! You are the Lord of the world. You should not go, let him come.”
Krishna turned back, looked at him, smiled and said,

“Darkness does not come to light, light has to go to darkness.”.

Why do we need a Master?

Once upon a time, a cow went out to graze in the jungle. Suddenly, she noticed a tiger racing towards her. She turned and fled, fearing that at any moment the tiger would sink his claws into her. The cow desperately looked for someplace to escape and at last, saw a shallow pond. Barely evading the tiger’s reach, she jumped into the pond, and in the heat of the chase, the tiger blindly leaped after her.

To the surprise of them both, the pond was extremely shallow yet filled with deep recesses of mud. After toppling over each other, the cow and the tiger found themselves a short distance apart, stuck in the mud up to their necks. Both had their heads above water but were unable to free themselves no matter how much they writhed.

The tiger repeatedly snarled at the cow and roared, “I am going to enjoy the sound of crunching your bones between my teeth!”

He thrashed about in fury but soon became fretful as he found no prospect of escape.

The cow thoughtfully laughed as the tiger struggled to free himself and asked him, “Do you have a master?”

The tiger disdainfully replied, “I am the king of the jungle. Why do you ask me if I have a master? I myself am the master!”

The cow said, “You may be the king of the jungle, but here all your power has failed to save your life.”

“And what about you?” Retorted the tiger. “You are going to die here in this mud too!”’

The cow smiled mildly and said, “No, I am not.”

“If even I, the king of the jungle cannot free myself from this mud”, snapped the tiger, “Then how can you, an ordinary cow?”

The cow gently replied, “I cannot free myself from this mud, but my master can. When the sun sets and he finds me absent at home, he will come looking for me. Once he finds me, he will raise me up and escort me home sweet home.”

The tiger fell silent and coldly glared at the cow.

Soon enough, the sunset and the cow’s master arrived. He immediately recognized the plight she was in and lifted her to safety. As they walked home, the cow and the master both felt renewed gratitude for one another and pitied the tiger they both would have been happy to save if only the tiger had allowed them.

The cow represents a surrendered heart, the tiger represents an egoistic mind, and the master represents the Guru.  The mud represents the world, and the chase represents the struggle for existence therein.

The Four Principles of Spirituality

The First Principle states:
“Whomsoever you encounter is the right one”

This means that no one comes into our life by chance. Everyone who is around us, anyone with whom we interact, represents something, whether to teach us something or to help us improve a current situation.

The Second Principle states:
“Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened”

Nothing, absolutely nothing of that which we experienced could have been any other way. Not even in the least important detail. There is no “If only I had done that differently…, then it would have been different…”.
No. What happened is the only  thing that could have taken place and must have taken place for us to learn our lesson in order to move forward.
Every single situation in life which we encounter is absolutely perfect, even when it defies our understanding and our ego.

The Third Principle states:
“Each moment in which something begins is the right moment”

Everything begins at exactly the right moment, neither earlier nor later. When we are ready for it, for that something new in our life, it is there, ready to begin.

This is the Fourth Principle, the final one:
“What is over, is over”

It is that  simple. When something in our life ends, it helps our evolution. That is why, enriched by the recent experience, it is better to let go and move on.

I think it is no coincidence that you’re here reading this.

If these words strike a chord, it’s because you meet the requirements and understand that not one single snowflake falls accidentally in the wrong place!

Be good to yourself.
Love with your whole being.
Always be happy.

Remain Blessed!!!

Long  time  ago there  lived  a  great king  and  two beggars  who always  stood  at the  gate  of  his  palace  everyday.

As  the  king  rode by  everyday,  the 1st beggar would say 'blessed  is  he whom  the  king helps' while  the 2nd beggar would say 'blessed is he whom God helps'.

The  king  always felt  pleased  to hear  the  praise  of the 1st  beggar.

One  evening  the king  decided  to reward  the  1st beggar  for  all  the praise;  he  ordered his  baker  to  bake a  cake  and  wrapped gold inside  the  cake.

The  next day  as  he  rode  by, he gave  the  cake  to the  1st beggar  as he  hailed  him  as usual.

The 1st beggar  who  was  in  dire need  of  cash  sold  the  cake  to  the 2nd beggar at  a cheap  price.

When the 2nd beggar cut open the cake he saw the gold, sold them and became a wealthy man.

He did not return back to the kings gate the next day.

As  the  king  rode out  of  his  palace the  next day,  he saw  the  1st beggar  still  begging for money  and stopped  to  ask him  if  he  ate  the cake  he  gave  him.

The  1st beggar replied  and  said  no  sir,  I  sold  it  to my  friend  who  was  here  with  me yesterday;  I  have not  seen  him today.

The  king shook his head highly disappointed and confessed silently to himself that

" Indeed Blessed is he Who God helps"

Our  God  is  the  all knowing  God, HE has  not  forgotten you. God  always does His work just  in  time.

Be  blessed  and  Trust  God  even  when  you  don't understand  His WILL. Someday your blessings shall be in abundance.

Remain Blessed!!!

Only Steps

Heavy rains remind us of challenges in life. Never ask for a lighter rain, just pray for a better umbrella. That is Attitude.

When flood comes, fish eats ants and when flood recedes, ants eat fish. Only time matters. Just hold on. God gives opportunity to every one.

In a theatre when drama plays, you opt for front seats. When film is screened, you opt for rear seats. Your position in life is only relative. Not absolute.

For making soap, oil is required. But to clean oil, soap is required. This is the irony of life.

Life is not about finding the right person. But creating the right relationship. It's not how we care in the beginning. But how much we care till the end.

Every problem has (N+1) solutions: where N is the number of solutions that you have tried and 1 is that you have not tried.

When you are in problem, don't think it's the End. It is only a Bend in life.

Difference between Man and God is God gives, gives and forgives. Man gets, gets and forgets.

Only two category of people are happy in life - the Mad and the Child. Be Mad to achieve a goal. Be a Child to enjoy what you achieved.

Never play with the feelings of others. You may win. But loose the person for lifetime.

There is no Escalator to success.  Only Steps!!

Mini Story "It is always a YES".

If you come across any amazing opportunity and you are not sure of doing it or grabbing it, say YES and start learning how to do it the best.

The power of YES is abundant and limitless. A child, full of energy and potential, never hears a NO and completes whatever he wants to. So, why with experience, we start listening to a NO and also interpret it as a NO.

All NOs are YESs. The vibrations of a YES are far outreaching than the fear of NO.

YES, YOU CAN DO IT. JUST DO IT.

Keep learning... Keep growing... Keep winning...

Be blessed.

Change

"By changing your thinking, you change your beliefs;
When you change your beliefs, you change your expectations;
When you change your expectations, you change your attitude;
When you change your attitude, you change your behavior;
When you change your behavior, you change your performance;
When you change your performance, you change your Life!" - Good morning have a wonderful day ahead

Attaining #Success Using The #Tool Of #Visualization

A study shows that the majority of sportsmen and women, who win at prominent international events, are trained to use the tool of visualization to achieve success. Many months before the actual event, they visualize i.e. they create pictures of success inside their minds that they have already achieved their goal. The same principle of visualization is also used to cure patients from major illnesses including cancer. Patients are taught to visualize their diseased organs free from illnesses or visualize the organs receiving healing energy in some form or the other.Visualization helps people to have 100% belief in themselves that they will achieve the desired goal. The efforts made with this powerful energy of belief have a greater probability of success than when you make the efforts without believing in what you are doing and without visualizing yourself as achieving your objectives.

If you think about your failures from the past, you stop believing in yourself, lose your enthusiasm and get frustrated. Visualizing images of a positive future helps you work from the present towards the future, without allowing the past failures to have any negative influence on you. You visualize yourself as a person, who has already overcome his fears and negative habits, and the fears are removed and the negative habits are transformed. You see yourself alreadytransformed e.g. you say - I am a soul full of all powers and not - I am going to or am trying tofill myself with all powers. The power of that vision and the positive affirmations, combined together, is such that it helps you to bring about a major change in yourself, not just a small change, because you make it easy for your sub-conscious mind that is sleeping to wake up and realize its potential. You stop always expecting the worst and hope for, visualize and believe in the best.

Interpretation of Prayer

What is a prayer? Prayer doesn't just happen when we kneel or put our hands together and focus and expect things from God.
Thinking positive and wishing good for others is a prayer. When you hug a friend.
That's a prayer. When you cook something to nourish family and friends. That's a prayer.
When we send off our near and dear ones and say, 'drive safely' or 'be safe'.
That's a prayer. When you are helping someone in need by giving your time and energy.
You are praying. When you forgive someone by your heart. That is prayer. Prayer is a vibration.
A feeling. A thought. Prayer is the voice of love, friendship, genuine relationships.
Prayer is an expression of your silent being. Keep praying always...
Stay Blessed.

GEETA IN MANAGEMENT- DISCUSSION:

Conversation between Krishna & Today's Arjun

1. Arjun :- I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic.

Krishna:- Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you free.

2. Arjun :- Why has life become complicated now?

 Krishna :- Stop analyzing life... It makes it complicated. Just live it.

3. Arjun :- Why are we then constantly unhappy?

Krishna :- Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.

4. Arjun :- Why do good people always suffer?

Krishna :- Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer.
With that experience their life becomes better, not bitter.

5. Arjun :- You mean to say such experience is useful?

Krishna :- Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons later.

6. Arjun :- Because of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading…

Krishna:- If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides the way.

7. Arjun :- Does failure hurt more than moving in the right direction?

Krishna:- Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you.

8. Arjun :- In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

Krishna :- Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

9. Arjun :- What surprises you about people?

Krishna :- When they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me?"

10. Arjun :- How can I get the best out of life?

Krishna:- Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

11. Arjun :- One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

Krishna:- There are no unanswered prayers. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

          Stay Happy Always.....!!!

True Calling.

"I used to go to the Temple with my grandma. The temple had flights of stairs. I used to ask her why can't they build the temple on the ground? Why do you have to climb the stairs at each and everyday temple?

The answer she gave was interesting, she said you need to rise above your level to reach God.

Each step in those stairs is a reminder that you are rising above your level in terms of your envy, your greed, anger, ego and all evil parts of your life. It also suggests that you have to climb the steps one by one, you can't just jump off from first step to the last step. That is the cycle of life, once you conquer these aspects you reach towards your inner core self...

Every moment, every step wish you are rising above your level & discovering your true calling.

Corruption self examination

- If you usually put more sugar in your tea when in a hotel than you do at home, you're likely to be corrupt.

- If you use more tissue in a public washroom than you do at home, you are a potential thief, if given opportunity you would take what's not yours.

- If you serve yourself more food than you can finish just because someone else is footing the bill, you're greedy.

- If you usually jump queues, you have potential for abusing office if given a powerful position.

- If you are more concerned about knowing someone's surname rather than first name, you're likely to be a tribal bigot. It's even worse when someone tells you their name and you ask, "which tribe is that?"

- If you usually overlap while in traffic jam or have no regard for traffic lights, then you would easily embezzle public funds if you're given a position at a public office since you hate regulation .

- If you channel waste or dirty water from your compound to a neighbour's compound rather than manage it, you're ill-mannered.

If you look at this post and wonder whether it was really necessary to talk about these issues; then you are dishonest and you would easily cover up ills in the society for your own benefit.

Let us try to be people of character wherever we find ourselves.

A country is as good, or bad, as its citizens make it. No Government can take action which ONLY THE CITIZENS can take - individually or collectively.

"Rukhi Suky Khai Kay .. Khushwant Singh @ 98

Coming on to 98 and still earning more than I did in my younger days, people ask me how I manage to do it. They regard me as an expert on longevity. I have pronounced on the subject before; I will repeat it with suitable amendments based on my experience in the past two years.*

Earlier I had written that longevity is in one’s genes: children of long-living parents are likely to live longer than those born to short-lived parents. This did not happen in my own family. My parents who died at 90 and 94 had five children, four sons and a daughter.

The first to go was the youngest of the siblings. Next went my sister who was the fourth. My elder brother who was three years older than me went a couple of years ago. Two of us remain; I, who will soon be 98, and my younger brother, a retired Brigadier three years younger than me and in much better health. He looks after our ancestral property.

Nevertheless, I still believe gene is the most important factor in determining one’s life-span. More important than analysing longevity is to cope with old age and make terms with it.

As we grow older, we are less able to exercise our limbs. We have to devise ways to keep them active. Right into my mid-eighties, I played tennis every morning, did rounds of Lodhi gardens in winter and swam for an hour in summer. I am unable to do this any more. The best way to overcome this handicap is regular massages. I have tried different kinds and was
disappointed with the oil drip and smearing of oil on the body. A good massage needs powerful hands going all over one’s body from the skull to the toes. I have this done at least once a day or at times twice a day.

I am convinced that this has kept me going for so long. Equally important is the need to cut down drastically one’s intake of food and drink. I start my mornings with guava juice. It is tastier and more health-giving than orange or any other fruit juice. My breakfast is one scrambled egg on toast. My lunch is usually patli kichri with dahi or a vegetable. I skip
afternoon tea. In the evening, I take a peg of single malt whisky. It gives me a false appetite.

Before I eat supper, I say to myself “Do not eat too much.” I also believe that a meal should have just one kind of vegetable or meat followed by a pinch of chooran. It is best to eat alone and in silence. Talking while eating does not do justice to the food and you swallow a lot of it. For me no more Punjabi or Mughlai food. I find South India idli, sambhar and grated coconut easier to digest and healthier.

Never allow yourself to be constipated. The stomach is a storehouse of all kinds of ailments. Our sedentary life tends to make us constipated. Keep your bowels clean however you can: by laxatives, enemas, glycerin suppositories, whatever. Bapu Gandhi fully understood the need to keep bowels clean. Besides, taking an enema every day, he gave enemas to his women admirers.

Impose strict discipline on your daily routine. If necessary, use a stop-watch. I have breakfast exactly at 6.30 am lunch at noon, drink at 7 pm, supper at 8. Try to develop peace of mind. For this you must have a healthy bank account. Shortage of money can be very demoralising. It does not have to be in crores, but enough for your future needs and possibility of falling ill. Never lose your temper, it takes a heavy toll and jangles one’s nerves. Never tell a lie. Always keep your national motto in mind: Satyamev Jayate - only truth triumphs.

Give generously. Remember you can’t take it with you. You may give to your children, servants or charity. You will feel better. There is joy in giving. Drive out envy of those who have done better than you in life. A Punjabi verse sums up ::
*Rukhi Suki Kha Kay,*
*Thanda Paani Pee,*
*Na Veykh Paraayi Choparian,*
*Na Tarssain jee.*
_(Eat dry bread and drink cold water,_
_Pay no heed or_
_Envy those who smear their chapattis with ghee)_

Do not conform to the tradition of old people spending time in prayer and long hours in places of worship. That amounts to conceding defeat. Instead take up a hobby like gardening, growing bonsai, helping children of your neighborhood with their homework.

A practice which I have found very effective is to fix my gaze on the flame of candle, empty my mind of everything, but in my mind repeat Aum Shanti, Aum Shanti, Aum Shanti. It does work. I am at peace with the world. We can’t all be Fauja Singh who at 100 run a marathon race but we can equal him in longevity and creativity. I wish all my readers long, healthy lives
full of happiness.

Story of a #Wealthy #Man

*A very interesting story must read...*

*One Sunday morning, a wealthy man sat in his balcony enjoying sunshine and his coffee when a little ant caught his eye which was going from one side to the other side of the balcony carrying a big leaf several times more than its size. The man watched it for more than an hour. He saw that the ant faced many obstacles during its journey, paused, took a diversion and then continued towards destination.*

*At one point the tiny creature came across a crack in the floor. It paused for a little while, analyzed and then laid the huge leaf over the crack, walked over the leaf, picked the leaf on the other side then continued its journey.*

*The man was captivated by the cleverness of the ant, one of God’s tiniest creatures. The incident left the man in awe and forced him to contemplate over the miracle of Creation. It showed the Greatness of the Creator. In front of his eyes there was this tiny creature of God, lacking in size yet equipped with a brain to analyze, contemplate, reason, explore, discover and overcome.*

*A while later the man saw that the creature had reached its destination – a tiny hole in the floor which was entrance to its underground dwelling. And it was at this point that the ant’s shortcoming that it shared with the man was revealed.*

*How could the ant carry into the tiny hole the large leaf that it had managed to carefully bring to the destination? It simply couldn't!*

*So the tiny creature, after all the painstaking and hard work and exercising great skills, overcoming all the difficulties along the way, just left behind the large leaf and went home empty-handed.*

*The ant had not thought about the end before it began its challenging journey and in the end the large leaf was nothing more than a burden to it. The creature had no option, but to leave it behind to reach its destination. The man learned a great lesson that day.*

*That is the truth about our lives too.*
*We worry about our family, we worry about our job, we worry about how to earn more money, we worry about where we should live, what kind of vehicle to buy, what kind of dresses to wear, what gadgets to upgrade......only to abandon all these things when we reach our destination –*
*The Grave.*

*We don’t realize in our life’s journey that these are just burdens that we are carrying with utmost care and fear of losing them, only to find that at the end they are useless and we can’t take them with us.....*

🌺Ganesha’s Symbolism

All deities are extremely representational, with their various markings, colours, faces and objects surrounding them holding deep significance and sometimes abstract meaning. As Ganesh is all about protection and power, much of his symbolism is related to safeguarding us from life’s physical and subtle obstacles.

His elephantine head: The elephant is a symbol of strength and power, and is an animal native to India. Whilst many wild elephants are not dangerous, the ones that are found alone in the wild are extremely dangerous and often destructive. In this way, we can understand that there is a somewhat fearful yet respectful relationship with elephants in some parts of the world, and whilst they often come across as gentle and calm, they have the potential to wreak havoc if they’re treated badly.

His large ears: Show that he listens to those who ask for help from him, with the largeness of them representing his ability to listen to many people.

His large head: Symbolises his intelligence and thinking ability – as the patron saint of letter writing, it helps to have a big brain!

His small mouth: Indicates that he listens more and talks less

His one broken tusk: Represents retaining the good but throwing away the bad that we do not need.

His small eyes: Are for concentrating and one-pointed focus.His large stomach: Shows that he is able to consume and digest all the good and bad in life

In Ganesh’s four hands, he holds various objects, as do many deities. These objects are particularly important for symbolising how each deity can help us progress throughout life.

In one hand he holds a rope, which represents Ganesh’s ability to help pull us up towards our ultimate goal of realisation and liberation. Another hand holds an axe, to cut all attachments with the impermanent and material world we continually grasp for. In his third hand, he holds a bowl full of sweets, which represent rewards for spiritual development. His fourth hand is often shown in a mudra, with the most common depiction of him showing the blessing mudra, which looks almost identical to the Abhaya or ‘fearless’ mudra. This hand gesture is taken by many deities, as a way of blessing those who worship them.🙏🏻
🌺MAY LORD GANESHA BLESS  YOU & SHOWER HIS CHOICEST BLESSINGS ON YOU🌺

#Celebrate #Life with #Gratitude

The best short stories I have read in a very long time thot I should share :)

7 short stories shared by Satya Nadella [CEO Microsoft]

🌾 *LOOKING BACK*
I interviewed my grandmother for part of a research paper I’m working on for my Psychology class. When I asked her to define success in her own words, she said, “Success is when you look back at your life and the memories make you smile."

🌾 *LOVE CONQUERS PAIN*
After I watched my dog get run over by a car, I sat on the side of the road holding him and crying. And just before he died, he licked the tears off my face.

🌾 *TOGETHERNESS*
As my father, three brothers, and two sisters stood around my mother’s hospital bed, my mother uttered her last coherent words before she died. She simply said, “I feel so loved right now. We should have gotten together like this more often.”

🌾 *AFFECTION*
I kissed my dad on the forehead as he passed away in a small hospital bed. About 5 seconds after he passed, I realized it was the first time I had given him a kiss since I was a little boy.

🌾 *JOY*
When I witnessed a 27-year-old cancer patient laughing hysterically at her 2-year-old daughter’s antics, I suddenly realized that I need to stop complaining about my life and start celebrating it again.

🌾 *KINDNESS*
A boy in a wheelchair saw me desperately struggling on crutches with my broken leg and offered to carry my backpack and books for me. He helped me all the way across campus to my class and as he was leaving he said, “I hope you feel better soon.”

🌾 *SHARING*
I was traveling in Kenya and I met a refugee from Zimbabwe. He said he hadn’t eaten anything in over 3 days and looked extremely skinny and unhealthy. Then my friend offered him the rest of the sandwich he was eating. The first thing the man said was, “We can share it.”

#Meaning Of #SILENCE

The Silent Retreat

_Four Monks Decided to Meditate Silently Without Speaking for Two Weeks._

_They began with enthusiasm and no one said a word the whole day. By nightfall of the first day, the candle began to flicker and then went out._

*The First Monk* _Blurted out,  "Oh, No! The Candle Is Out."_

*The Second Monk* _Said, "Hey! We are Not Supposed to Speak!"_

*The Third Monk said in an Irritated Voice,* _"What Is This? Why Did You Two Break the Silence?"_

*The Fourth Monk* Smiled and said, _"Wow! I'm the Only One Who Hasn't Spoken."_

~~~
*Reflections:*
*Each Monk Broke the Silence for a Different Reason, Each Of Which is a Common Stumbling Block in our Inner Journey: Distraction, Judgement, Anger and Pride.*
_*The First Monk* Got Distracted by One Aspect of his Experience (the Candle) and Forgot what was more Important - *The Practice of Witnessing Without Reacting*._
_*The Second Monk* was more Worried About Others Following the Rules than in Actually Practicing Himself_. _He was Quick to Judge Without Noticing that he Himself was Guilty of What he was Criticizing_.
_*The Third Monk* let his Anger Towards the First Two Monks Affect Him. The Singular Burst of Anger Ruined the Effort of the day._
*The Fourth Monk* _Lost his Way Because of Pride. He Was Convinced he was Superior to the Others, Proving his Ignorance._
*Why Did the Fourth Monk Speak At All?*
_He Could have Simply Maintained his Silence and he would have been Successful in his Endeavor. But if he had, Chances are, the Other Three Might have Continued to Argue and Not Even Noticed his Silence._
Some people are like this. Their motto is *"If I'm doing something good, but no one notices, I might as well not be doing it at all.*" _They Believe that the Reward is Not in the Effort, But in the Recognition._
There is a beautiful quote, *"It Is The Provence of Knowledge to Speak; it is the Privilege of Wisdom to Listen."*
_As we Learn to Truly Listen, Witness and Observe Without Impulsively Reacting with Distraction, Judgement, Anger and Pride, Then We Understand the True_
