Today, as I hurried across the wet tile floor, I slipped and lost my balance. Just as I was about to slam my head on the ground, a boy in a wheelchair reached out and caught me. "Believe it or not," he said with a gentle smile, "that’s almost exactly how I injured my back three years ago."
His words
struck me deeply. Here was someone who had suffered a life-changing injury in a
similar accident, yet he was still ready to help others in their moment of
need. I thanked him sincerely, feeling a mix of gratitude and humility.
Moral: Even in our
own struggles, we can find the strength to help others. Acts of kindness and
compassion are powerful, no matter our circumstances.
